Following her first Simple Living campaign, Plesner founded The Simple Living Committee in 2008. By using contemporary art, the foundation raises awareness and funds for various causes. The activities include the shipping of medical aid and school furniture to countries like Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania, Yemen and Syria. All work is done by volunteers.
The Simple Living Committee's collaboration with the Hananasif orphanage in Tanzania and Herning highschool is moving forward. Five of the Danish students visited Hocet recently and have captured some of their experiences on film:
